Table 5: New Features Feature Description configuration file. Configuring Multiple Exclusion Ranges of IP Subnets W-IAPs now allow you to configure multiple exclusion ranges of IP subnets in a local, l2 DHCP profile. Based on the size of the subnet and the configured exclusion range, the IP addresses before and after the defined range are excluded. MAC authentication on guest SSID with guest-type users from internal server You can now enable MAC authentication on guest SSID profiles that do not have captive portal configured. To configure MAC authentication on a guest SSID with no captive portal authentication, ensure that the splash page is disabled and the guest users are added in the internal server, with their device MAC address as the user name and password. Locking Cellular SIM PIN If your 3G/4G modem supports SIM PIN lock feature to prevent fraudulent use, you can now lock and unlock a SIM PIN from the W-IAP. The cellular-uplink-profile command in the W-IAP CLI now includes the pin-enable and pin-puk parameters to enable SIM PIN and unlock SIM PIN using PUK code provided by your ISP. For more information, see the cellular-uplink-profile command in the Dell Networking WSeries Instant 6.4.3.x-4.2 CLI Reference Guide. Configuring MTU size on uplink and tunnel interfaces The W-IAP CLI now allows you to define the size of maximum transmission unit (MTU) for uplink and tunnel interfaces. For more information, see the mtu command in the Dell Networking W-Series Instant 6.4.3.x-4.2 CLI Reference Guide. Enabling and disabling SSL protocols The W-IAP CLI now includes the web-server command to allow you to enable or disable SSL protocols such as tlsv1, tlsv1_1, and tlsv1_2. For more information, see the web-server command in the Dell Networking W-Series Instant 6.4.3.x-4.2 CLI Reference Guide Support for New W-IAP Devices Instant 6.4.3.1-4.2.0.0 release introduces support for the following new W-IAP devices. These new devices do not interoperate with Instant versions lower than 6.4.3.1-4.2.0.0. If these W-IAPs are placed into a cluster running older Instant versions such as 6.4.x.x-4.1.x.x, the devices will reboot with the Image Sync Fail reason. To resolve this issue, upgrade the existing cluster to minimum Instant 6.4.3.1-4.2.0.0 release, and then add the new W-IAP devices. 34 | About Instant Dell Networking W-Series Instant 6.4.3.1-4.2.0.0 | User Guide

configuration file.
Configuring Multiple
Exclusion Ranges of IP
Subnets
W-IAPs now allow you to configure multiple exclusion ranges of IP subnets in a local,
l2 DHCP profile. Based on the size of the subnet and the configured exclusion range,
the IP addresses before and after the defined range are excluded.
MAC authentication on
guest SSID with guest-type
users from internal server
You can now enable MAC authentication on guest SSID profiles that do not have
captive portal configured. To configure MAC authentication on a guest SSID with no
captive portal authentication, ensure that the splash page is disabled and the guest
users are added in the internal server, with their device MAC address as the user
name and password.
Locking Cellular SIM PIN
If your 3G/4G modem supports SIM PIN lock feature to prevent fraudulent use, you
can now lock and unlock a SIM PIN from the W-IAP. The
cellular-uplink-profile
command in the W-IAP CLI now includes the
pin-enable
and
pin-puk
parameters to
enable SIM PIN and unlock SIM PIN using PUK code provided by your ISP. For more
information, see the
cellular-uplink-profile
command in the

mtu
command
in the
Dell Networking W-Series Instant 6.4.3.x-4.2 CLI Reference Guide
.
Enabling and disabling SSL
protocols
The W-IAP CLI now includes the

New Features
Support for New W-IAP Devices
Instant 6.4.3.1-4.2.0.0 release introduces support for the following new W-IAP devices. These new devices do
not interoperate with Instant versions lower than 6.4.3.1-4.2.0.0. If these W-IAPs are placed into a cluster
running older Instant versions such as 6.4.x.x-4.1.x.x, the devices will reboot with the
Image Sync Fail
reason. To resolve this issue, upgrade the existing cluster to minimum Instant 6.4.3.1-4.2.0.0 release, and then
add the new W-IAP devices.
