GENERAL INFORMATION @3 VOL+/- buttons Press these to change the playback volume output through the unbalanced VARIABLE Output jacks. @4 ENTER button Press this to confirm selections in the menus. @5 PLAY/PAUSE button Press this to start playback or pause playback. @6 CUE button Press this to return to the position at which playback started or the next track. @7 5 / 6 buttons Press this to accurately change the positions where playback will start or operate as FF or FR when held down. • Operational range As shown in the figure below, the player can be operated by the remote control unit in a range which of about 5 meters from the player's remote sensor and over an angle up to 30 degrees to the left and 30 degrees to the right of the position directly in front. 2. The batteries provided are used to verify the operations of the remote control unit only. 1. Take hold of the tab on the battery cover which is found on the back side of the remote control unit, and pull it up. CAUTION: Misuse of the batteries can result in electrolyte leakage, rupturing, corrosion, etc. Bear in mind the following points when using batteries. • Remove the batteries from the remote control unit if the unit is not going to be used for a prolonged period (a month or more). • Do not use an old battery together with a new one. • Insert the batteries while ensuring that their a and · poles are properly aligned with the corresponding markings on the remote control unit. • Batteries with the same shape may have different voltages. Do not use different types of batteries together. • If electrolyte has leaked, thoroughly wipe the inside of the battery compartment, and then insert new batteries. 8
