BELT OR BRUSHROLL: REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT TOOL REQUIRED: PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER NOTE: Unplug cleaner before changing belt or brushroll. 5BELTSTYLE For Belt Style 5 replacement, please call 1-800-321-1134 or visit our website at www.dirtdevil.com to locate a dealer nearest you. REMOVAL REPLACEMENT 1. Screws Tab 2. Tab 1. MOTOR SHAFT Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner over to expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and face up. To remove nozzle guard, use a Phillips Screwdriver to remove the three (3) screws. Arrows show location of screws. Push on the two tabs to release. Lines show location of tabs. Lift nozzle guard off. Lift and remove brushroll. Dispose of old belt. Loop belt onto motorshaft. 2. 3. 3a. 4. Screws Place new belt in area of brushroll without bristles. 1 2 Insert brushroll into side holder #1 and then #2. Follow direction of arrows on brush end caps, (Diagram 3a). NOTE: Rotate brushroll to make sure belt is not twisted. Tab Tab Tab Replace nozzle guard. Match the front tabs to the slots on the nozzle base first. Swing down to snap hooks. Press firmly on entire nozzle guard to secure. Replace the three (3) screws to secure. IMPORTANT: Rotate brushroll by hand before starting cleaner. GENERAL MAINTENANCE WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY FROM MOVING PARTS - UNPLUG BEFORE SERVICING. IF OBSTRUCTION DEVELOPS DURING FLOOR CLEANING: 1. If obstruction develops while cleaning carpets, turn cleaner OFF and unplug. Check paper bag to see if it is full. If full, replace with a new paper bag (Page 8). 2. Check dirt tube to see if there is an obstruction (Page 6, "HOSE ASSEMBLY"). If so, remove obstruction. 3. Turn cleaner over and remove nozzle guard (Page 9, Diagram 1). Clear any obstruction that occurs in or around the brushroll area. 4. Remove hose from hose inlet (Page 7, Diagram 7). Remove any obstruction. NOTE : Regularly clean debris from filter in bag compartment (Page 8). IF OBSTRUCTION DEVELOPS DURING TOOL USAGE: 1. If obstruction develops while above floor cleaning, turn cleaner OFF and unplug. Check paper bag to see if it is full. If full, replace with a new paper bag (Page 8). 9 LIGHTBULB: REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT TOOL REQUIRED: FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER WARNING:TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK - UNPLUG CLEANER BEFORE REMOVING OR REPLACING LIGHTBULB. NOTE:This cleaner uses a common automotive lamp #906, 13.0 volts. For bulb replacement, call 1-800-321-1134 or your local auto parts store. 1. 2. Lean cleaner handle Pull bulb out of socket to back. Insert end of remove. Push bulb into standard (flat head) socket to replace. Snap screwdriver into bottom headlight lens panel slot and pry outward to back into place. pop headlight lens out. Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner over to
expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and
face up. To remove nozzle guard, use a
Phillips Screwdriver to remove the three (3)
screws. Arrows show location of screws.
Push on the two tabs to release. Lines show
location of tabs. Lift nozzle guard off.
Lift and remove brushroll.
Dispose of old belt.

Insert brushroll into side holder #1
and then #2. Follow direction of
arrows on brush end caps, (Diagram
3a).
NOTE:
Rotate brushroll to make
sure belt is not twisted.
Replace nozzle guard. Match the front tabs
to the slots on the nozzle base first. Swing
down to snap hooks. Press firmly on entire
nozzle guard to secure. Replace the three
(3) screws to secure.

full. If full, replace with a new paper bag (Page 8).

If so, remove obstruction.
