Installing and Removing Disk Drives The instructions in this chapter describe how to install and remove optional Epson drives in your computer. You can use these instructions to install a variety of devices, including diskette drives, hard disk drives, and tape drives. Although your drive may look a bit different from the one illustrated here, you install it the same way. If you are installing or removing a non-Epson drive, some of the steps in this chapter may not apply; see the documentation that came with your drive for more information. Before you perform any of the procedures described below, follow the steps in Chapter 5 to remove the computer's cover and subassembly. When you complete your drive installation or removal, follow the instructions in Chapter 5 to replace the subassembly and cover. Then see "Post-installation Setup Procedures" at the end of Chapter 6 for information about updating your drive configuration. Caution Installing or removing a disk drive is a complicated procedure, so you may want to ask your dealer to do it for you.
