Note If your application program requires a monitor that supports graphics but you have a monochrome monitor, the results will be unpredictable. 8. If you installed a display adapter card in your computer, and you want to use that adapter as your primary display adapter, you need to change the setting of jumper Jl on the main system board to disable the built-in VGA adapter. Otherwise, you will not see any display on the screen. You may also need to set jumpers J3 and J5. See "Changing the Jumper Settings" in Chapter 6 for instructions. 9. If you are still having difficulty with your monitor, run the Video diagnostic tests, described in Appendix B. If the diagnostics program indicates an error, contact the place where you bought the monitor. Diskette Problems If you see an error message or have trouble accessing data on a diskette, try the following steps: 1. Did you turn down the diskette drive latch on a 51/4inch drive to secure the diskette in the drive? See Chapter 3 for more information. 2. You may have inserted the diskette upside-down or it may not be inserted all the way. Remove the diskette from the drive and reinsert it with the label facing up.
