Main Menu Main Menu > System Tab The following options are available: • Time Format-select 12 Hour, 24 Hour (military), or UTC (also called Greenwich Time) time format. • Time Zone-select your time zone to show correct local time or enter a UTC Offset (how many hours you are ahead or behind the time line). • Daylight Saving Time-select Auto, On, or Off to adjust for Daylight Saving Time. Comm (Communications) Sub Tab The Comm sub tab controls the input/output format used when connecting your GPSMAP 3006C/3010C to external NMEA devices or a personal computer. The unit supports two input/output ports. Note: See the GPSMAP 3006C/3010C & GPS17 Installation Instructions for more information on wiring and NMEA information. 64 Port 1 • Garmin Data Transfer-the proprietary format used to upload or download MapSource data, exchange waypoint, route, track, and proximity data with a computer or another Garmin unit. When you select Garmin Data Transfer, you can choose from nine Garmin Data Transfer Modes. • NMEA In/NMEA Out-supports the input or output of standard NMEA 0183 data, DSC, and sonar NMEA input support for the DPT, MTW, and VHW sentences. You can also adjust the NMEA output. • NMEA High Speed-supports the input or output of standard 0183 data for most AIS receivers. • None-provides no interfacing capabilities. Port 2 • NMEA In/NMEA Out-supports the input or output of standard NMEA 0183 data, DSC, and sonar NMEA input support for the DPT, MTW, and VHW sentences. You can also adjust the NMEA output. • None-provides no interfacing capabilities. You can also adjust the NMEA output to enable or disable certain sentences and adjust the number of Lat/Lon output precision digits. You must have one of the ports set to NMEA In/NMEA Out to use this option. Settings affect both Port 1 and Port 2 NMEA outputs. Network You can select the method to upload or download user data on networked chartplotters. • Merge User Data-merges the user data for all chartplotters on each chartplotter. • Clone User Data-the user data from the chartplotter initiating the clone replaces the user data on all other chartplotters attached to the network.
