Quick Start Guide 15 8. Get On the Internet Connect to the world through a data connection or Wi-Fi connection. Browse the web, download applications or games from Android Market, and send/ receive emails. Using a data connection Your phone will be automatically configured to use your wireless service provider's GPRS/3G/EDGE service when you turn on your phone (if the SIM card is inserted) for the first time. If your phone is not connecting, check the mobile network the phone is using and if data connection is turned on. To check the mobile network the phone is using 1. Press HOME > MENU and then tap Settings. 2. Tap Wireless controls > Mobile networks > Network operators or Access Point Names. Turn on data connection by selecting the Mobile network check box in Settings > Wireless controls. Using Wi-Fi 1. On the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings > Wireless controls. 2. Select the Wi-Fi check box to turn Wi-Fi on. The phone will scan for available wireless networks. 3. Tap Wi-Fi settings. The network names and security settings (Open network or Secured with WEP) of detected Wi-Fi networks are displayed in the Wi-Fi networks section.

8. Get On the Internet
Connect to the world through a data connection
or Wi-Fi connection. Browse the web, download
applications or games from Android Market, and send/
receive emails.
Using a data connection
Your phone will be automatically configured to use your
wireless service provider’s GPRS/²G/EDGE service when
you turn on your phone (if the SIM card is inserted) for
the first time.
If your phone is not connecting, check the mobile
network the phone is using and if data connection is
turned on.
To check the mobile network the phone is using
1.
Press HOME > MENU and then tap
Settings
.

Tap
Wireless controls > Mobile networks >
Network operators
or
Access Point Names
.
Turn on data connection by selecting the
Mobile
network
check box in
Settings > Wireless controls.
Using Wi-Fi
1.
On the Home screen, press MENU and then tap
