After a period of use, however, tape oxide and dust particles will inevitably form on the Record, Playback, and Erase Heads, the Capstan and the Pressure Roller. To remove these particles, merely take a cotton-tipped stick that has been moistened with methyl alcohol (common household rubbing alcohol) and lightly wipe these areas. DEMAGNETIZING HEADS: Through continuous use, the varying magnetic fields of the tape will gradually build up residual magnetism on the gap of the head. Excessive residual magnetism on the head will produce noise while the tape is being played. Therefore, it is advisable to demagnetize the heads from time to time CAUTION: Commercial tape head cleaners may react unfavorably with for which we recommend periodic use of Head Demagnetizer. 8
