Bias Fine Trim O Hi Cut . • Hi Boost Bias Fine Trim Bias Fine Trim enables you to get optimal wide band recordings by adjusting the deck's bias setting to the specific tape you are using. You locate the correct setting by making a test recording, as follows: 1. Turn off Dolby NR, MPX Filter and Meter Weighting. 2. Load the cassette you are using into the deck and press to advance part way into the tape. Press ■ (Stop). 3. Press 0/11 (Record/Pause). 4. Press Bias Tone button and hold; press ► to begin recording. 5. Note left and right meter levels. Turn Bias Fine Trim knob until left and right levels are equal. 6. Make a note of the correct setting for this brand and formulation of tape. To find the ideal settings for other tape brands or formulations, repeat this test. Left Rec Ca/ Right O O Min ' ' Max Min ' ' Max Record Calibration Rec Cal enables you to get more accurate recordings using Dolby Noise Reduction, by adjusting the deck's recording circuitry to match the playback sensitivity of the specific tape you are using. You locate the correct Rec Cal settings by making a test recording, as follows: 1. Turn off Dolby Noise Reduction, MPX Filter and Meter Weighting. 2. Load the cassette you are using into the deck and press► ► to advance part way into the tape. Press ■ (Stop). 3. Press 0/11 (Record/Pause). 4. Press Rec Cal button and hold; press ► to begin recording. 5. Note left channel meter level. Turn Left Rec Cal knob until left level is 0dB. 6. Turn Right Rec Cal knob until right level is 0dB. 7. Make a note of the correct settings for this brand and formulation of tape. To find the ideal settings for other tape brands or formulations, repeat this test.
