Each workout is divided into segments. One speed setting and one incline setting are programmed for each segment. Note: The same speed setting and/ or incline setting may be programmed for consecutive segments. If the speed or incline setting is too high or too low at any time during the workout, you can manually override the setting by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons; however, when the next segment of the workout begins, the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment. To stop the workout at any time, press the Stop button. The time will begin to flash in the display. To resume the workout, press the Start button or the Speed increase button. The walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph. When the next segment of the workout begins, the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment. 4. Follow your progress with the displays. See step 5 on page 19. 5. Measure your heart rate if desired. See step 6 on page 19. 6. Turn on the fan if desired. HOW TO USE AN 8-WEEK WEIGHT-LOSS WORKOUT 1. To select the desired week of the program, press the Select Week button repeatedly until the number of the desired week appears in the display. 3. Select the desired day of the program. There are three day workouts for each week of the program. To select the desired day of the program, press the Select Day button repeatedly until the number of the desired day appears in the display. 4. Enter your weight. To allow the console to calculate the amount of calories you will burn more accurately, press the Enter Weight increase and decrease buttons to enter your weight. The console will adjust the workout's intensity level according to the weight entered. 5. Start the workout. Press the Jillian Michael's Start button, and then press the Start button to start the workout. See step 7 on page 19. 7. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. The workout will function in the same way as an onboard workout (see step 3 on page 19). 6. Follow your progress with the displays. See step 8 on page 19. See step 5 on page 19. The Time/Distance display will show the time remaining instead of the elapsed time. 20
