HP 600 Modular Disk System The HP 600 Modular Disk System (MDS600) is a Serial Attach SCSI (SAS) storage enclosure. The MDS600 supports 3.5" SAS or Serial ATA (SATA) drives and attaches to HP BladeSystem c7000 or c3000 enclosures via the HP 3Gb SAS BL Switch. The MDS600 has two, 35-drive drawers for a total of 70 drives. IMPORTANT: Drives greater than 2 TB are not supported for use when the MDS600 is connected to the HP 3Gb SAS BL Switch in a 3G direct-connect external SAS storage solution. Key features of the MDS600 include: • 5U design, with seventy (70) 3.5-inch hot-pluggable SAS or SATA drive bays. • Four power supplies for maximum redundancy and fault-tolerance. • Drive bay zoning support (when attached to an HP 3Gb SAS BL Switch in a BladeSystem c-Class enclosure), which presents only the drives included in the assigned zone group to the server. • Choice of 3.5" Serial ATA (SATA) midline, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) midline, or Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) enterprise drives. • Support for 1.5G or 3G SATA drives linking at 1.5G. • Support for 3G or 6G SAS drives linking at 3G. • Support to hot-add the MDS600 to a BladeSystem solution. HP 600 Modular Disk System
The HP 600 Modular Disk System (MDS600) is a Serial Attach SCSI (SAS) storage enclosure. The
MDS600 supports 3.5" SAS or Serial ATA (SATA) drives and attaches to HP BladeSystem c7000
or c3000 enclosures via the HP 3Gb SAS BL Switch. The MDS600 has two, 35-drive drawers for
