The BIOS has two main roles: • It tests and configures the computer's hardware components during the POST, and lets you perform further configuration by using the Setup program. • It provides the link between the software running on your computer, which has been written to be independent of any particular computer, and your computer's hardware (the hard disk, the keyboard, the display, and so on). What Is the BIOS?

BIOS
