Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 25). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 34). Remove the speakers: 1. Disconnect the speaker cable (1) from the system board. 2. Release the speaker cables from the retention clips/routing channels (2) built into the front edge of the battery. 3. Remove the two Phillips M2.0×4.1 screws (3) that secure the speakers to the base enclosure. 4. Remove the speakers (4).
