5.1.1 Rebooting the monitoring line card The easiest way to reboot a Myrinet interconnect is with a Web browser. In the following steps, uc denotes microcontroller: 1. Get the main page (http://switchname). 2. Click on the link "Slot 56 (big uc)." 3. Select "reboot" from the menu "commandForBigUc." 4. Click on Apply. This does not reset all the counters in other line cards. To do this, you have to also reboot each line card microcontroller, as follows: 1. Get the main page (http://switchname). 2. Click on the link "Slot 1." 3. Click on the link "reboot." 4. Check the checkbox "reboot." 5. Check the radio button "all Ucs." 6. Click on Apply. Usually customers just want to reboot a Myrinnet interconnect after reprogramming the firmware, or to change its IP address, in which case it is enough to just reboot the monitoring card. 5.2 Removing and installing an 8-port line card Each 8-port line card has a pair of handles that lock the card in place and serve as a lever for inserting or removing the line card. The handles snap toward the middle when installed. To remove an 8-port line card or the monitoring line card, use the following procedure: 1. Press the red tabs to unlock the handles (Figure 5-1). Figure 5-1: Unlocking Switch Card Handles 2. Turn both handles outward together. You should be able to see and feel the lever action as the front panel of the line card is ejected toward you (Figure 5-2). 5-2 Replacing components
