8 Turn the Copier On The switch is located on the right side, lower-front corner of the copier. When the switch is in the off position, the machine is in a "standby" condition. This means that although it is not functional, power is still applied. When the machine is turned on, it must complete an initialization sequence before it will be ready to make copies. If you open the lid during the initialization, the message Close lid will appear. You will not be able to use the copier until you close the lid and allow the initialization to finish. Push down the left side of the switch to turn on the HP Color Copier. If a new print cartridge was installed while the copier was off, the copier automatically aligns the print cartridges .This procedure takes about 60 seconds. The alignment procedure prints a page, so paper needs to be loaded in the copier when it is turned on. Discard the page. s If the message Unlock scanner.
