Macintosh install instructions This product comes with software and installers for Microsoft Windows and Apple Computer, Inc., Macintosh systems. Linux and UNIX systems support this product; their software is available on the Web. This document provides procedures for installing the solutions software for Macintosh operating systems for this product. Topics: ● Installation overview ● Installation options ● Installation dialog-box options for Macintosh Installation overview The solutions software for this product comes on one CD-ROM. The CD-ROM includes printer-drivers and everything you need to print by using this product. This product uses the HP Installer. The Installer installs only the solutions software for this product on the current system startup drive that contains the active System folder. By default, the solutions software folder for this product is installed in the Library folder. The HP LaserJet Director software is also installed by the HP Installer. The HP LaserJet Director is installed automatically when the solutions software for this product is installed. The HP LaserJet Director software components are installed under the Applications directory, in the HP LaserJet MFP/Director folder. The HP Photosmart Studio has its own installer and installs automatically when the solutions software for this product is installed. The HP Photosmart Studio components are installed in the Hewlett-Packard directory. Installation options The solutions software can be used with the product in the following configurations: ● A computer is directly connected to the product through a USB port, and the solutions software for the product is loaded on the computer. ● The product is networked by using on-board networking through Bonjour (Rendezvous). folder for this product is installed in the Library folder.

The HP LaserJet Director software is also installed by the HP Installer. The HP LaserJet Director is

installed automatically when the solutions software for this product is installed. The HP LaserJet Director

software components are installed under the Applications directory, in the HP LaserJet MFP/Director

folder.

The HP Photosmart Studio has its own installer and installs automatically when the solutions software
