Table 1-5 Control panel display icons Icon Description Error Code/Number Counter ● Displays the letter E and a number when the printer is in an error state. ● Shows the number of copies when copying documents. The maximum count is 9. ● Changes to a blinking "A" after the printhead alignment page is printed. ● Shows a racetrack animation or spinning icon when the printer is busy. See Error codes. Error icon: Indicates a warning or an error. Paper icon: Indicates paper related issues (including out of paper, paper jam, and so on). Wi-Fi status icons: Indicate the Wi-Fi status and signal strength. ● Wi-Fi Alert Icon ● Wi-Fi signal bars Wi-Fi Direct icon: Indicates the Wi-Fi Direct status. ● On: Wi-Fi Direct is turned on and ready to use. ● Off: Wi-Fi Direct is off. ● If blinking fast in sync with the Error icon for 3 seconds and stays on, Wi-Fi Direct has reached the maximum of 5 connections. ● If blinking fast in sync with the Error icon for 3 seconds and turns off, Wi-Fi Direct is disabled by your network administrator. Ink Level icons: Indicate the estimated ink levels of the cartridges. The left icon represents the color cartridge and the right icon represents the black cartridge.
