8 Solve a problem Solve common printer problems. Update the printer HP periodically releases firmware updates to enhance product functionality and fix issues. By default, if the printer (Wi-Fi models) or the connected computer has Internet connection, the printer automatically checks for updates at regular intervals. To update the printer manually, follow the instructions in the next sections. HP Smart (iOS, Android, and Windows 10) Follow these steps: 1. Open the software on your computer or mobile device. If prompted, create or sign in to an HP account. 2. Click or tap your printer image to access the printer settings. 3. Select Advanced Settings. This opens the printer home page or embedded web server (EWS). 4. In EWS, click or tap Tools. 5. Click or tap Printer Updates. 6. Select Firmware Updates and follow the onscreen instructions.
