If you replace the module and then receive a warning message, remove the module to restore device functionality, and then contact technical support. NOTE: On select products, the WLAN module cannot be removed or replaced. Before you begin this process, check that the WLAN module can be removed or replaced on your model. Before removing the WLAN module, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 37). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover and rubber feet on page 38). 3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 39). To remove the WLAN module: NOTE: On select products, the size and shape of the Mylar cover may vary from the illustration. 1. Pull back the Mylar cover to access the WLAN module (1). 2. Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables (2) from the terminals on the WLAN module. NOTE: Models have either one or two WLAN antennas. On models with two antennas, the #1/white WLAN antenna cable connects to the WLAN module #1/Main terminal. The #2/black WLAN antenna cable connects to the WLAN module #1/Aux terminal. 3. Remove the Phillips M2.0 × 3.0 screw (3) that secures the WLAN module to the computer. (The WLAN module tilts up.) Component replacement procedures 45

Pull back the Mylar cover to access the WLAN module

NOTE:
