4. If it is necessary to replace the hard drive rubber bracket, release the left and right sides (2) of the rubber bracket from the hard drive, and then remove the rubber bracket (3). Reverse this procedure to reassemble and install the hard drive. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 26). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 29). Remove the memory module: 1. Spread the retaining tabs (1) on each side of the memory module slot to release the memory module. (The memory module tilts up.) Component replacement procedures 31
