Table 2-2 Left-side components and their descriptions Component Description (1) Audio-out (headphone)/Audio-in (microphone) Connects optional powered stereo speakers, headphones, combo jack earbuds, a headset, or a television audio cable. Also connects an optional headset microphone. This jack does not support optional standalone microphones. WARNING! (2) USB port Connects a USB device, provides data transfer, and (for select products) charges small devices, even when the computer is on or in Sleep mode. (3) USB Type-C port with HP Sleep and Charge Connects a USB device, provides data transfer, and charges (select products only) small devices, even when the computer is off. - and - Connects a display device that has a USB Type-C connector, providing DisplayPort™ output. NOTE: Cables, adapters, or both (purchased separately) might be required. (4) USB Type-C Thunderbolt™ port with HP Sleep Connects a USB device, provides high-speed data transfer, and and Charge (select products only) charges small devices, even when the computer is off. - and - Connects a display device that has a USB Type-C connector, providing DisplayPort output.
