Before removing the keyboard, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 40), and then remove the following components: a. Service door (see Service door on page 41) b. mSATA SSD (see mSATA SSD on page 42) c. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 45) d. Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 52) e. System board (see System board on page 63) f. Connector board (see Connector board on page 77) g. Subwoofer (see Subwoofer on page 80) h. Rear speaker (see Rear speakers on page 82) i. Power button board (see Power button board on page 90) Remove the keyboard: 1. Remove the seven Phillips PM2.0×2.9 screws (1) that secure the keyboard shield to the computer. 2.
