Installing the Ultra3 Disk Drive Module CAUTION Protect the Ultra3 disk - HP LH4r | Ultra3 SCSI Hot-Swap Hard Disk Drive and Tray User Guide - Page 8
latch and insert your fingers. • Using your fingers, pull the filler panel straight out. Figure 2-1 shows a filler panel being removed from a system with a six-drive hot-swap cage. Pull the disk spacer forward slightly, to disengage the back two feet and lift. Figure 2-2. are inserted horizontally (Figure 2-4); and in other systems, drives are inserted vertically (Figure 2-5). Be careful of the light pipes as you insert the drive. The light pipes are fragile. about 30 seconds for the hard disk drive to stop spinning and the drive heads to park. 4. Use your hand to support the bottom of the disk drive module. Slowly pull the disk drive module straight out. have two different sizes: the 1.6-inch (4 cm) half-height drive uses tray accessory D6127A, and the 1-inch (2.5 cm) low profile drive uses tray accessory D6128A. (These tray accessories also support Ultra2 drives.) CAUTION Handle the drive and tray gently during assembly. in place, then tighten snugly. Do not over tighten. 4. Insert the four screws that attach the Ultra3 drive to the hot-swap tray, then tighten snugly. Do not over tighten. 1. Drive fits into tray 2.
