Clear jams from the scanner paper path 1. Open the scanner hatch. 2. Remove the originals or any obstructions from the paper path. 3. Remove any debris (paper, staples, clips, etc.) that you see in the paper path. 4. Close the scanner hatch. 5. Reload the unscanned originals in the document feeder. 6. Resume scanning. Replace the feed-roller assembly If streaks on scans or paper jams occur repeatedly, you might have to replace the feedroller assembly. HP recommends that you replace the feed-roller assembly every 75,000 scans or less, depending on usage. Use the Maintenance tab in the Scanner Tools Utility to keep track of the scan count and find out when the feed roller assembly needs to be replaced. For more information, see Scanner Tools Utility.
