Using the Recovery CD Installing Retail Windows 95 To install PC Card support for retail Windows 95 If you've installed a retail version of Windows 95, you'll need to install PC Card support. This driver is located on the OmniBook's hard drive or on the Recovery CD in \Omnibook\Drivers\Win95\Pccard\950aonly. 1. From Control Panel, double-click System. 2. Click Device Manager. 3. Under PCMCIA Socket, double-click on the device with the red X. 4. Under General, Properties, check Device Usage to enable this device in the current profile called Original Configuration (Current). 5. Click OK. 6. The PCMCIA Installation Wizard starts. 7. Follow the on-screen instructions. 8. From Control Panel, double-click System, then click Device Manager. 9. Open PCMCIA socket then PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller. 10. Click Resources. 11. Uncheck Use automatic settings. 12. Change the Setting based on to Basic configuration 1. 13. Confirm the Input/Output Range is 03E0 - 03E1 and there is no Interrupt setting. 14. Click OK then click Yes to confirm the manual setting. 15. Close the System Properties window. 16. From the Start menu, shut down and restart the OmniBook. 6-11

To install PC Card support for retail Windows 95
If you’ve installed a
retail
version of Windows 95, you’ll need to install PC Card
support. This driver is located on the OmniBook’s hard drive or on the
Recovery CD
in \Omnibook\Drivers\Win95\Pccard\950aonly.
1. From Control Panel, double-click System.
2. Click Device Manager.
3. Under PCMCIA Socket, double-click on the device with the red X.
4. Under General, Properties, check Device Usage to enable this device in the
current profile called Original Configuration (Current).
5. Click OK.
6. The PCMCIA Installation Wizard starts.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions.
8. From Control Panel, double-click System, then click Device Manager.
9. Open PCMCIA socket then PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller.
10. Click Resources.
11. Uncheck Use automatic settings.
12. Change the Setting based on to Basic configuration 1.
13. Confirm the Input/Output Range is 03E0 - 03E1 and there is no Interrupt setting.
14. Click OK then click Yes to confirm the manual setting.
15. Close the System Properties window.
16. From the Start menu, shut down and restart the OmniBook.
