Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 37) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 38) c. Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 40) Remove the SSD: 1. Remove the Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screw (1) that secures the SSD to the system board. 2. Remove the SSD (2) by pulling the drive away from the slot at an angle. Before removing the SSD, follow these steps:

Remove the SSD:
1.
Remove the Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screw
(1)
that secures the SSD to the system board.
2.
Remove the SSD
(2)
by pulling the drive away from the slot at an angle.
Reverse this procedure to install the SSD.
