Select Actions > View Properties. The Storage System Properties window opens. 4. Click the properties tabs. Storage system concepts Replication licenses overview To use local and remote replication features on a given array, the replication manager verifies that appropriate HP replication licenses exist for that array. • For information on acquiring and installing local replication licenses, see the HP StorageWorks Business Copy EVA administrator guide. • For information on acquiring and installing remote replication licenses, see the HP StorageWorks Continuous Access EVA administrator guide. • Replication licenses are verified during automatic and global refreshes. See refreshing resources (automatic) and refreshing resources (global) • Replication license status is displayed in the GUI. See license status. Replication license policies HP license policies determine how the replication manager interacts with resources that require HP replication licenses. The following summarizes the policies. • Verification. License verification includes factors such as: • • Type of license • Expiration date (if any) • Capacity range (amount of storage) • Multi-array volumes. If a volume is comprised of virtual disks on two or more arrays, each array must have an HP replication license in order in order to be considered fully licensed. • GUI actions. Some GUI actions may be disabled if an applicable HP license is not verified. Disabled actions appear in gray and cannot be selected. A tooltip indicates why the action cannot be performed. See tooltips. For example, if you select a virtual disk and the New Snapclone action is disabled, it can be because the storage system that contains the disk does not have a local replication license. • Job commands. Some job commands may not be executed if an applicable HP license is not verified when a job is run. An event in the job log indicates the command did not execute due to a licensing issue. For example, if a SnapcloneStorageVolume command in a job did not execute when the job was run, it may be because the storage system that contains the disk did not have a local replication license.
