Figure 57 Balancing many-to-one replication sources across all available nodes Replication and load balancing The specification for a B6200 service set is that it can accept up to a maximum of 48 concurrent replication streams from external sources. If more than 48 streams are replicating into a B6200 node, some streams will be put on hold until a spare "replication slot" becomes available. Being a replication target is more demanding of resources than being a replication source, this is why we recommend allocating dedicated replication targets to specific nodes. The example detailed on the following page shows a full system approach and is a good overview of what is required. Note that: • Each service set on each node is relatively at the same load (load balancing is a manual process) • Each node has a single function, VTL backup targets node, NAS backup targets node, Replication target.
