SCSI-2 Drive Commands NOTE SCSI-2 Drive Command Set Mode Sense (Group 0) Command (1AH) Quick Disconnect A Quick Disconnect bit of 1 enables SCSI bus disconnection before command validation on performance path commands (i.e. reads, writes). A Quick Disconnect bit of 0 disables SCSI bus disconnection before validation on performance path commands (i.e. reads, writes). Force Verify The Quick Disconnect default setting is 0. A Force Verify bit of 1 indicates that all write operations will be verified. The Write 6-, 10-, and 12-byte commands will operate as if they were Write Verify 6, 10, and 12-byte commands. A Force Verify bit of 0 indicates normal operation. Bytes 4 and 5 DOM The Force Verify default setting is 0. Bytes 4 and 5 are used to read the setting of the DIP switches on the drive. SX-Y refers to the setting of DIP switch S50X-Y (see Figure 2-1 on page 2-51 and Table 2-44 on page 2-51). If SX-Y=0, the switch is set to the OFF position; if SX-Y=1, the switch is set to the ON position. These fields are not changeable. The switch setting value overrides the saved value. A drive operating mode of 0 indicates that the drive is installed in a jukebox environment. A DOM bit of 1 indicates that the drive is installed in a stand-alone environment. The DOM bit is not selectable using the Mode Select command. Chapter 2 2-71
