To removehood, turn nozzle over and unscrewthe 7 r e c e s s e dP h i l l i p s head screws. Step ll Return nozzle to originalposition. Lower Quick D i s c o n n e c tb y d e p r e s s i n gd o w n the handlerelease pedal and lift off the hood.

Cleaning
the Exhaust
Filter
NOTE:This
is located on the rear of the vacuum cleaner.
Step I
Release
the exhaust
filter cover and
remove the cover as
shown. Removethe
filter by pulling the
tab towards
you.
Step
ll
Tap the pleated
filter on the inside
of a trash can to
remove excess
dust
and dirt.
WARNING:
Do not
apply water to
pleated filter.
N OTE: Repla
ce
filter if any sign of
damage.
Steplll
Once c'leaned
return the exhaust
filter to the
vacuum cleaner.
Replace
the exhaust
filter cover before
restartingthe vacu-
um cleaner.

Filter, ask for
HOOVER
part no.
AH400to.
Power
Nozzle
belt replacement
The belt in your power nozzle drives the
agitator. lt has been designed
specifically
for use in this cleanerand is important for
effective operation.
What to buy
There are other belts manufactured that
are similarin shapeand size,but are not
designed for the HOOVERpower nozzle.
Such belts do not operate
the agitator cor-
rectly and may create
stress
which could
damage your power nozzle. Use only a
genuine HOOVER
Belt part no. AH20000
when a belt replacement
is necessary.
Whento replace
The belt should be checkedfrom time to
time to be sure it is in good condition. To
check,remove the hood (see
following sec-
tion). Replace
the belt if it is stretched,cut,
or broken.
How
to replace
Step I
Disconnect
cleaner
from e'lectrical
outlet and discon-
nect power nozzle
from extension
wand.
To remove hood,
turn nozzle over
and unscrew the
7 recessed
Phillips
head screws.
Step
ll
Return nozzle
to original
posi-
tion. Lower
Quick
Disconnectby
depressing
down
the handle
release
pedal and lift off
the hood.
