Networked connection To connect the Ethernet cable to the management module, complete the following steps: 1. Connect one end of a Category 5 or higher Ethernet cable to the remote management and console (Ethernet) connector on the management module. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the network. 2. Check the Ethernet LEDs to make sure that the network connection is working. v When the green Ethernet LINK LED is lit, there is an active connection through the port to the network. v When the green Ethernet activity (TX/RX) LED is flashing, it indicates that there is activity through the port over the network link. The following illustration shows the locations of the Ethernet LEDs. The following sections describe how to make typical network connections for a
management module.
Networked connection
To connect the Ethernet cable to the management module, complete the
following steps:
1.
Connect one end of a Category 5 or higher Ethernet cable to the remote
management and console (Ethernet) connector on the management module.
Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the network.
2.
Check the Ethernet LEDs to make sure that the network connection is
working.

When the green Ethernet LINK LED is lit, there is an active connection
through the port to the network.

When the green Ethernet activity (TX/RX) LED is flashing, it indicates
that there is activity through the port over the network link.
