Removing the riser card and the I/O card Updated May 20, 2008 Figure 2-9. Removing the riser card and the I/O card To remove the riser card: 1. Open the unit (see "Opening the unit" on page 2-2). 2. Disconnect the power-supply cable from the riser card. 3. Lift the riser card assembly up and out. 4. Disconnect the two cables that connect the riser card to the I/O card. 5. Remove the two hex screws at each upper corner of the riser card. 6. Pull the riser card out of the riser card assembly. 7. To replace the riser card, reverse this procedure, being careful to avoid pinching the cables. To remove the I/O card: 1. Remove the screws beside serial ports C and D on the back cover of the 4810. 2. Remove the riser card assembly. (See steps 1 through 4 of the procedure to remove the riser card.) 3. Remove the two screws from the I/O card. 4. Rotate the I/O card toward the back of the 4810 (which lifts the card off two standoffs), and lift the card out. 2-12 SurePOS Installation and Service

Removing
the
riser
card
and
the
I/O
card
To
remove
the
riser
card:
1.
Open
the
unit
(see
“Opening
the
unit”
on
page
2-2).
2.
Disconnect
the
power-supply
cable
from
the
riser
card.
3.
Lift
the
riser
card
assembly
up
and
out.
4.
Disconnect
the
two
cables
that
connect
the
riser
card
to
the
I/O
card.
5.
Remove
the
two
hex
screws
at
each
upper
corner
of
the
riser
card.
6.
Pull
the
riser
card
out
of
the
riser
card
assembly.
7.
To
replace
the
riser
card,
reverse
this
procedure,
being
careful
to
avoid
pinching
the
cables.
To
remove
the
I/O
card:
1.
Remove
the
screws
beside
serial
ports
C
and
D
on
the
back
cover
of
the
4810.
2.
Remove
the
riser
card
assembly.

3.
Remove
the
