Add the Japanese font into the configuration of Xpdf If the BlackBerry® Attachment Service in BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express 5.0 SP3 does not correctly display a .pdf file that contains embedded Japanese text, you must complete this task. 1. On the computer that hosts the BlackBerry Attachment Service instance, navigate to :\Program Files \Research in Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express\AttachServer\xpdf. 2. In a text editor, open the xpdfrc file. 3. In the Japanese section of the xpdfrc file, remove the comment tag (#) from the displayCIDFontTT line. 4. In the displayCIDFontTT line, specify the path to the MSGOTHIC.TTC TrueType font file. If the file path contains any spaces, enclose the path in quotation marks, as shown in the following example: "c:\WINDOWS\Fonts \MSGOTHIC.TTC". 5. Save the configuration file. 6. Restart the BlackBerry Attachment Service. 11

Add the Japanese font into the configuration of Xpdf
If the BlackBerry® Attachment Service in BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express 5.0 SP3 does not correctly display
a .pdf file that contains embedded Japanese text, you must complete this task.
1.
On the computer that hosts the BlackBerry Attachment Service instance, navigate to <
drive
>:\Program Files
\Research in Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express\AttachServer\xpdf.
2.
In a text editor, open the
xpdfrc
file.
3.
In the Japanese section of the
xpdfrc
file, remove the comment tag (#) from the
displayCIDFontTT
line.
4.
In the
displayCIDFontTT
line, specify the path to the MSGOTHIC.TTC TrueType font file. If the file path contains
any spaces, enclose the path in quotation marks, as shown in the following example: "c:\WINDOWS\Fonts

5.
Save the configuration file.
