Circuitry automatically chooses auxillary power and defers discharge until auxillary power is removed or exhausted. Auxillary power increases the DRT ratings. Battery Life and Data Retention Time The Intel utilities display a counter showing the number of times a BBU has been recharged. When you replace a BBU, you should run the utility program and reset this counter to zero for the new BBU. Intel® recommends that you replace the battery pack on the BBU once a year or after 500 recharging cycles, whichever comes first. The battery pack has one year warranty.
