TROUBLESHOOTING Try the solutions suggested here first in order to avoid the cost of an unnecessary service call. Nothing will operate WARNING Display shows message Is the clock showing 00:00? There has been a power failure. Go to "Settings" , "Preferences", "Clock" and set the time. Oven cooking results not what expected Electrical Shock Hazard Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet. Do not remove ground prong. Do not use an adapter. Do not use an extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock. ■■ Is the power supply cord unplugged? Plug into a grounded outlet. ■■ Has a household fuse blown or has a circuit breaker tripped? Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If the problem continues, call an electrician. Oven will not operate ■■ Is the oven control set correctly? See "Electronic Oven Control" section. ■■ Is a descale needed? See "Descale" section NOTE: When oven descale is recommended, "Descale requested" will appear on the display. If this appears you can continue to use the oven without running descale but after roughly 10 hours of more usage, descaling will be required. Cooling fan runs during baking or broiling ■■ It is normal for the fan to automatically run while the oven is in use to cool the control. ■■ Is the oven level? Level the oven. See the Installation Instructions. ■■ Is the proper temperature set? Increase or decrease temperature. ■■ Was the oven preheated? Wait for oven to preheat before placing food in oven. ■■ Is the proper bakeware being used? See "Bakeware" section. ■■ Are the wire shelf and trays positioned properly? See "Positioning Wire Shelf, Trays and Bakeware" section. ■■ Is there proper air circulation around bakeware? See "Positioning Wire Shelf, Trays and Bakeware" section. ■■ Is the batter evenly distributed in the pan? Check that batter is level in the pan. ■■ Is the proper length of time being used? Increase or decrease baking or broiling time. ■■ Has the oven door been opened while cooking? Oven peeking releases oven heat and can result in longer cooking times. ■■ Are baked items too brown on the bottom? Move rack to higher position in the oven. or Decrease the oven temperature. ■■ Are pie crust edges browning early? Use aluminum foil to cover the edge of the crust and/or reduce baking temperature. Water pump is making noise ■■ Is the water pump making an abnormal loud noise? The water pump that is responsible for filling and draining the steam boiler will initially sound louder during air pumping and lower when water is filling the pump again. This is normal. Error message ■■ Refill water tank Ensure the tank is filled and fully inserted. 21
