BASIC OPERATION POWER ON Turn the Power switch/ Volume control clockwise to switch the transceiver power ON. • Beep A (1 beep) will sounds and the display momentarily lights up. ADJUST THE VOLUME Rotate the Power switch/ Volume control to adjust the volume. • Clockwise increases the volume and counterclockwise decreases the volume. • If you are not receiving a signal, press the Side 1 button to unmute the speaker, then adjust the volume control to a comfortable audio output level. SELECT A CHANNEL Rotate the Selector to select your desired channel. • Press the Side1 button to check whether or not the channel is free before making a call. MAKE A CALL Press and hold the PTT switch, then speak into the microphone using your normal speaking voice. • The LED lights in red. • Hold the transceiver approximately 3 to 4 cm (1.5 inches) from your mouth. Release the PTT switch to receive. Note: ◆ When the battery pack voltage becomes too low, transmission will stop and an alert tone will sound. 10
