OPERATOR SELECTABLE TONE (OST) You may have programmed CTCSS or DCS signaling on your transceiver channels. A CTCSS tone/ DCS code is a sub-audible tone/code which allows you to ignore (not hear) calls from other parties who are using the same channel. When a channel is set up with a CTCSS tone or DCS code, squelch will only open when a call containing a matching tone or code is received. Likewise, signals that you transmit will only be heard by parties whose CTCSS/ DCS signaling matches your transceiver. OPERATOR SELECTABLE TONE (OST)
You may have programmed CTCSS or DCS signaling on your transceiver
channels.
A CTCSS tone/ DCS code is a sub-audible tone/code which allows you
to ignore (not hear) calls from other parties who are using the same channel.
When a channel is set up with a CTCSS tone or DCS code, squelch will only open

Select your desired channel using the
Selector
.

Press the
[ <B ]
button to turn the OST (Operator Selectable Tone) function
ON and OFF.
A dot appears in the bottom right side of the display when the OST
function is turned ON.
OST SETTINGS

Select your desired channel using the
Selector
.

Press and hold the
[ <B ]
button to enter OST setup mode.
“OST” appears, followed by the current setting.

Press the
[ <B ]
or
[ C> ]
button to select the desired CTCSS frequency or
DCS code.

} for the full list of CTCSS frequencies and DCS
codes.

Press the
[ S ]
button to set the selected CTCSS frequency or DCS code, and
exit OST setup.

Operate the transceiver as normal to make and receive calls.
Ensure that all other members in your group are operating on the same
CTCSS/ DCS setting.
