CALL SCAN You can alternate between monitoring the Call Channel and the current operating frequency. 1 Select the frequency (in VFO or Memory Recall Mode) you want to monitor. • In VFO Mode, turn the Tuning control or press Mic [UP]/[DWN] to select the desired frequency. • In Memory Recall Mode, turn the Tuning control or press Mic [UP]/[DWN] to select the Memory Channel you want to monitor. 2 Press [CALL] (1s) to start the Call Scan. • The Call Channel and the selected VFO frequency or memory channel are monitored. • The 1 MHz decimal blinks while scanning is in progress. 3 Press any key other than [F] or [ ] (Power) to stop Call Scan. Note: ◆ You must configure the CALL key function to "CALL" (Menu No. 19) prior to using Call Scan. Otherwise, a 1750 Hz tone will be transmitted. ◆ You can perform Call Scan even if the recalled Memory Channel has been locked out {page 42}. PRIORITY SCAN You may sometimes want to check your favorite frequency activities while monitoring other frequencies. In this case, use the Priority Scan function. Priority Scan checks the activities of the Priority Channel every 3 seconds. If the transceiver detects a signal on the Priority Channel, it recalls the frequency to the VFO. PROGRAMMING A PRIORITY CHANNEL 1 Press [VFO] and turn the Tuning control or press Mic [UP]/[DWN] to select your desired Priority Channel frequency. 2 Select selective call functions, if necessary. 3 Press [F]. • The Memory Channel number appears and blinks. 4 Turn the Tuning control or press Mic [UP]/[DWN] to 8 select the Priority Channel ("Pr"). 5 Press [MR] to store the data on the Priority Channel. 41
