29 Let's put out some sound XD-SERIES (En) Preparation section Collective presetting of stations (auto preset) Keep the AUTO key depressed (about 2 seconds). AUTO One-by-one presetting (manual preset) 1 Press the ENTER key during reception. Presetting is cancelled when no operation is executed for 10 seconds or more. 2 Select one of the preset numbers from 1 to 40. Presetting is cancelled when no operation is executed for 5 seconds or more. 3 Press the ENTER key again. ENTER MULTI CONTROL ENTER For Europe and U.K. (during FM reception) AUTO MEM O STEREO "MEMORY" is displayed during AM (MW) reception. Other countries MEMORY STEREO ÷ With priority for FM, a maximum of 40 stations is preset automatically. ÷ When there are many stations and the intended station has not been preset, please also use "One-by-one presetting (manual preset)". ÷ The stations which have been preset manually are overwritten. MEMORY STEREO 03 FM 89 O0 STEREO ÷ Repeat steps 123 to preset other stations. ÷ If several stations are preset under the same number, the previous memory is replaced with the latest memory contents. Frequency display Select the tuning mode. AUTO Each press alternates the mode. 1 "AUTO" lit (Auto tuning) 2 "AUTO" not lit (Manual tuning) Use the manual tuning mode when reception is noisy due to weak reception. (In the manual mode, stereo broadcasts are received in monaural.) ÷ Normally, use the AUTO (Auto tuning) mode. Knowledge sections ÷ When a key is held depressed, preset stations will be skipped at an interval of about 0.5 second. ÷ Preset stations can also be recalled using the numeric keys of the remote control unit.
