Managing printers 7 Managing printers Viewing the status of printer Parts Desription 1 Remote Status Screen Shows the current status of the device. By default, the status information is updated every two minutes. Notes: • A yellow status screen indicates the printer is in a warning condition. The printer will require future intervention to ensure continued processing and printing. Examples of common warning conditions include low paper, low toner, or full output bin. • A red status screen indicates the printer is in a critical condition. It requires user intervention to restore printer functions and proper working condition. Examples of critical conditions include empty trays or used‑up toner. 2 Refresh link Updates status screen information on demand. Checking the status of parts and supplies from the Embedded Web Server Note: Make sure the computer and printer are connected to the same network. 1 Open a Web browser, and then type the printer IP address in the address field. Notes: • View the printer IP address in the TCP/IP section in the Network/Ports menu. The IP address appears as four sets of numbers separated by periods, such as 123.123.123.123. • If you are using a proxy server, then temporarily disable it to load the Web page correctly. 2 Click Device Status > More Details.
