Such devices include disk drives (HDD), solid state drives (SSD), and optical drives (CD / DVD / Blu-Ray). Please refer to the device's manual for further information. • Many computer cases also require that large Serial ATA devices, such as HDDs, SSDs, and optical drives, be screwed down into the case. Refer to the manual that came with your computer case or your Serial ATA device for further installation instructions. • Please do not fold the Serial ATA cable at a 90-degree angle. Data loss may result during transmission otherwise. • SATA cables have identical plugs on either sides of the cable. However, it is recommended that the flat connector be connected to the mainboard for space saving purposes. 1-22

Many Ser±al ATA dev±ces also need a power cable from the power supply. Such
dev±ces ±nclude d±sk dr±ves (HDD), sol±d state dr±ves (SSD), and opt±cal dr±ves (CD /
DVD / Blu-Ray).
Please refer to the dev±ce’s manual for further ±nformat±on.
Many computer cases also requ±re that large Ser±al ATA dev±ces, such as HDDs,
SSDs, and opt±cal dr±ves, be screwed down ±nto the case. Refer to the manual that
came w±th your computer case or your Ser±al ATA dev±ce for further ±nstallat±on ±n-
struct±ons.
Please do not fold the Ser±al ATA cable at a 90-degree angle. Data loss may result
dur±ng transm±ss±on otherw±se.
SATA cables have ±dent±cal plugs on e±ther s±des of the cable. However, ±t ±s rec-
ommended that the flat connector be connected to the ma±nboard for space sav±ng
purposes.
