Multi-Channel Television Sound 45 1 While watching a TV channel, press DISPLAY twice to see the sound status in the top right corner of the screen. STOP 12:00AM CH 123 STEREO/SAP q When a program is broadcast in stereo, STEREO appears on the right side of the screen. q When a program is broadcast in second audio, SAP appears on the right side of the screen. q When a program is broadcast both in stereo and second audio, STEREO and SAP both appear on the screen. q Although a program may be broadcast in both stereo and 1 second audio, you cannot record in both stereo and sec- ond audio at the same time. q During tape playback, HIFI will appear in the top left cor- ner of the screen if VCR AUDIO is set to HIFI. Details are on page 46. q If you play non-HiFi tapes while VCR AUDIO is set to HIFI, HIFI will disappear from the screen. The TV/VCR/DVD will play the videotape in monaural sound automatically. q You must set the TV/VCR/DVD to record in either STEREO or SAP. When a program is broadcast both in stereo and second
audio, STEREO and SAP both appear on the screen.

Although a program may be broadcast in both stereo and
second audio, you cannot record in both stereo and sec-
ond audio at the same time.

During tape playback, HIFI will appear in the top left cor-
ner of the screen if VCR AUDIO is set to HIFI.

If you play non-HiFi tapes while VCR AUDIO is set to
HIFI, HIFI will disappear from the screen. The
