English DVD Setup Menu Setting up the HDMI Setup This setting is used when the unit is connected by HDMI or DVI with a TV or projector. This setting is enabled only when the HDMI option of the FL menu is On. (page 30) VIDEO HDMI AUDIO SPEAKER SP LEVEL DISC SYSTEM Resolution Format TV Aspect Audio 720p (750p) YCbCr-1 (4:4:4) 16:9 Wide Auto Move : Select : Enter Resolution • VGA • 480p/576p (525p/625p) • 720p (750p) • 1080i (1125i) Select one of the above with the ENTER button. Note • The resolutions available for HDMI outputs depend on the connected TV or projector. For details, see the user's manual of your TV or projector. • If, after changing the resolution, images are not displayed properly on the TV or projector, press and hold the SETUP button for two seconds to bring up the FL menu. Then set HDMI RESET to reset. (page 30) • VGA can be outputed only when TV System is set to NTSC. • When the resolution changes, the image may be corrupted or the output may take longer than normal. • A higher number generally indicates better picture quality (480P/576P = 720P = 1080i). 6 Format • RGB-Normal • RGB-Expand • YCbCr-1 (4:4:4) • YCbCr-2 (4:2:2) Select one of the above with the ENTER button. Note • Image data values in RGB-Normal format range between 16 (black) and 235 (white). • Image data values in RGB-Expand format range between 0 (black) and 246 (white). • The formats available for HDMI outputs depend on the connected TV or projector. For details, see the user's manual of your TV or projector. • Only RGB-Normal and RGB-Expand can be selected for DVI outputs. • When black rise to the surface depending on the display, black Setup in the Video Adjustment set to OIRE. • YCbCr-1 (4:4:4) sends 8 bit data. YCbCr-2 (4:2:2) sends 10 bit data. If your TV or projector supports YCbCr-2 (4:2:2), you can enjoy the superior image quality of full 10 bit processing. TV Aspect • 4:3 L - Box • 4:3 Pan Scan • 16:9 Wide • 16:9 Squeeze Select one of the above with the ENTER button. Note • The TV aspect ratios available for HDMI outputs depend on the connected TV or projector. For details, see the user's manual of your TV or projector. • Only 16:9 Wide and 16:9 Squeeze can be selected when the HDMI/DVI resolution is set to 720p or 1080i. • When this TV Aspect is in effect, it also determines the aspect output of Composite Video, S-Video, and Component Video. 37
