Audio • Auto: Audio is output as a bit stream when the connected device is set to Dolby Digital, DTS, or MPEG. Audio is output as linear PCM when the connected device is set to Linear PCM. If the connected device cannot accept bit streams, audio will be output as linear PCM. • PCM: Audio is converted to linear PCM. • OFF: HDMI output Audio = OFF Select the Digital Out (page 12) setting as described in "Setup Menu - Audio" (page 39). Select one of the above with the ENTER button. HDMI Audio Output Note • Audio is not output from Super Audio CDs or DVD-Audio discs with CPPM protection. • Audio is not output when the player is connected to a device with an HDCP-compatible DVI jack. • All of PCM signal from digital out (page 12) is converted to 44.1kHz/48kHz. • Turn the power on the front panel OFF during play or pause. Noise from a television etc. may come out. • When HDMI Audio is set to Auto or PCM, the Digital Out (page 12) setting is as per HDMI Audio. Multi-channel PCM sources are down mixed to channel 2. (A source whose down-mixing is prohibited is only output to FL/FR.) *3: Audio is not output from Super Audio CDs.
