Linux You will need to load and install a Samba server. • On Redhat 9 systems, click the Red Hat button and select System Settings>Server Settings>Samba Server. Click Add from the dialog that pops up. • On other systems, you may need to install the Samba server (smbd) manually and modify the samba configuration file (/etc/smb.conf on most systems: check "man smbd"). If your system requires a password on startup you will need to use one of
these access methods:
Recommended: Enable Guest Access on PCs that have a startup
password. To do this go to Settings>Control Panel>User Accounts,
and select Enable Guest Access.

Once the system is up and running, for better security you can configure
your OSX firewall to allow file access while blocking other network

445, and UDP ports 137 and 138.
Linux

On Redhat 9 systems, click the Red Hat button and select
System Settings>Server Settings>Samba Server. Click Add from the
dialog that pops up.
On other systems, you may need to install the Samba server (smbd)
manually and modify the samba configuration file (/etc/smb.conf on
most systems: check “man smbd”). If Samba is not installed, see
.
