The camera automatically processes pictures to emphasize the borders between light and dark areas of the picture, making edges seem sharper. IMAGE SHARPENING Auto High Normal Low Off Exit Confirm Select from the following five options and press . Option Auto (default setting) Description Camera sharpens edges for optimal results; amount of sharpening varies from shot to shot. High Pictures processed to increase sharpness, making edges more distinct. Normal Camera performs same standard level of sharpening on all images. Low Sharpening reduced below normal level. No sharpening performed. Suitable for pictures that Off will later be retouched on a computer. The Shooting Menu Image Sharpening Effects Can not be previewed in the monitor. You can view the results in the playback mode. Image Sharpening Unless the setting is Auto, the image-sharpening icon appears in the monitor. 94
