Night Portrait Assist (Night portrait assist) mode is used for taking portrait shots at night, when it provides a natural balance between the main subject and the background. A framing menu helps you frame off-center subjects and compose your shots. Pictures taken at slow shutter speeds are adjusted to improve quality, slightly increasing processing time. • Functions for Night portrait assist mode are the same as for Portrait mode ( 31), but FACE-PRIORITY AF is not available. • To prevent blurring, mount the camera on a tripod or rest it on a flat, stable surface. • Noise reduction turns on automatically at slow shutter speeds ( 102).
