Self-timer The camera is equipped with a self-timer that releases the shutter 10 seconds or 2 seconds after you press the shutter-release button. Set Photo VR (A110) to Off in the setup menu when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during shooting. 1 Press the multi selector J (n). Shooting Features 2 Select n10s or n2s, and press Self-timer the k button. • n10s (10 seconds): Use on important occasions, such as weddings. • n2s (2 seconds): Use to prevent camera shake. • If the setting is not applied by pressing the k button within a few seconds, the selection will be canceled. • When the shooting mode is Pet portrait scene mode, Y (pet portrait auto release) is displayed (A27). The self-timer cannot be used. • When the shooting mode is smart portrait mode, you can also use a Smile timer (A35) and n Self-Collage (A36) in addition to the self-timer. 3 Frame the picture and press the shutter-release button halfway. • Focus and exposure are set. 4 Press the shutter-release button the rest of the way 9 down. • Countdown starts. The self-timer lamp flashes and then glows steadily about one second before the shutter is released. 1/250 F3 • When the shutter is released, the self-timer is set to OFF.* • To stop the countdown, press the shutter-release button again. * When the shooting mode is Moon scene mode, the self-timer is not automatically set to OFF. To end the self-timer, select OFF in step 2. 45
