Problem Streaks of light or partial discoloration are visible in the monitor. Bright specks appear in images captured with flash. Flash does not fire. Optical zoom cannot be used. Digital zoom cannot be used. No sound when shutter is released. Images appear smeared. Colors are unnatural. Randomly spaced bright pixels ("noise") appear in image. Cause/Solution A Smear occurs when extremely bright light strikes the image sensor. When recording movies, avoiding bright objects, such as the sun, reflections of the sun, and electric lights is recommended. 74, F4 Flash is reflecting off particles in air. Set the flash mode setting to y Flash off. 44 • The flash mode is set to y Flash off. 44 • Choose a style is set to a feature that disables the 53 flash. Even if the shutter sound is not turned off, the shutter sound is not heard depending on the shooting mode and current settings. • Do not block the speaker. 2 Lens is dirty. Clean lens.
