Option Description Press the shutter-release button halfway to start live view. You can then press the shutter-release button halfway to focus (autofocus mode only) and press it all the way down to start or end recording. The 1 Record movies shutter-release button can not be used for other purposes while the live view selector is rotated to 1. To end live view, press the a button. The shutter- release button on an optional wireless remote controller or remote cord (0 427, 429) functions in the same way as the camera shutter-release button. If the shutter-release button is pressed all the way down during movie recording, the camera will record a photograph without interrupting movie recording. Photos have an aspect ratio of 16 : 9 and are recorded at an image quality of JPEG fine★ and the size x Live frame grab selected for Frame size/frame rate in the movie shooting menu (0 67); if two cards are inserted, the photo will be recorded to the same card as the movie. Note that during movie recording, photos are taken one at a time regardless of the release mode selected; this restriction does not apply if movie recording is not currently in progress. A Power Aperture Power aperture is available only in exposure modes A and M and can not be used while photo shooting info is displayed (a 6 icon indicates that power aperture can not be used).
